This course provides HR professionals and managers with a practical understanding of Colorado’s leave laws, including the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program and its interaction with federal laws such as FMLA, ADA, and PWFA. Participants will learn how to identify applicable leave laws, coordinate overlapping entitlements, and administer compliant leave processes.
Differentiate between key federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, HWFA, and FAMLI) and explain who qualifies for each.
Apply effective leave administration practices when multiple laws overlap, including coordination between FAMLI, FMLA, workers’ compensation, and disability benefits.
Identify and prevent common compliance risks, including interference and retaliation, through proper documentation and communication.
