Employers Council’s 2022 Benchmark Compensation Survey collected base wages for 428 positions across 10 distinct job families for Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. Each job includes the individual state breakouts of the data and an overall total responses data line.

Reported in the survey are base salary and average formal pay range. Participants were also asked to include by position:

  • Annual Incentive – Participants were asked to provide annual incentives for the past fiscal/calendar year. Data reported are average incentives paid and the number of employees receiving an incentive.
  • Target % Incentive – Participants were asked to provide targeted percentage figures for additional compensation, not earned income for the current year.
  • Exemption Status – Participants were asked to identify the FLSA classification of their matched position.

There were no new positions added to the survey this year.

The general information section reports data for 2021 pay increases, 2022 and 2023 projected pay increases, historical tracking of projected increases versus actual increases, and average hiring rates.

Following are several charts showing the 2022 participant analysis by geographic location, industry type, and employment size for all four states: Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
