Colorado’s FAMLI Grace Period Ends May 31, 2023

Colorado’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI) requires multiple actions to be taken by most employers to comply, including registering on the state website, payroll withholding, and submission to the state of payments and wage reports on a quarterly basis.

Although the 2023 first-quarter payment was due April 30, 2023, the state provided a grace period until May 31, 2023. Payments submitted after that date will be subject to penalties.

Quarterly premium payment and wage reports are due on the same schedule as unemployment insurance. Here are the payment due dates for the rest of 2023:

  • Second quarter: July 31, 2023

  • Third quarter: October 31, 2023

  • Fourth quarter: January 31, 2024

To learn more about your responsibilities to comply with FAMLI, access our FAMLI Resources Community page with links to resources from Employers Council and the state. There is another Community, Colorado FAMLI (Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program), where members share information and discuss questions. For assistance, please contact the Employers Council Member Experience team at info@employerscouncil.org.
