State and federal laws are different regarding what is often referred to as the Public Sector. While many laws apply to both the public and private sectors, there are important differences. Employers Council staff have reviewed those differences in federal and state laws and created a handbook for public sector employers in Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. We are working on sample handbooks for Idaho, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
In the sample handbooks, we delve into the legal requirements present in the public sector as a unique political subdivision of state government. We explain how those laws, as applied, would impact sample policies or guidelines and then provide those samples.
